Gnome House Summer Fayre featuring Storytelling Cafe

Stories & Supper will be marking Refugee Week with a storytelling cafe at the Gnome House Summer Fayre on Saturday 25th June (12-6pm), showcasing the creativity of the refugees in their group. They will be sharing poems and stories taken from their book, In the Morning Birds Were Singing, as well as displaying banners created in a series of workshops made possible by the LBWF Refugee Appeal.
Delicious Indian food made by two of the Stories & Supper chefs, Shahnaz and Jacob, will also be on sale.
The event is a collaboration with local African drumming and dance group Mbilla Arts and Gnome House, and will also feature music, dance and storytelling, an artists’ market and children’s art activities.
12-6 pm – Arts & Crafts market
12.30-4pm – Free drop in children’s garden activity with Ratpack youth group
2-4pm Storytelling Cafe with Stories and Supper and Mbilla Arts – including spoken word, poetry, music and African storytelling with Alim Kamara
4-5 pm – Performances by Somos Chibchas Colombian Dance Troupe and Mbilla Arts drummers on the terrace (PA required)
5.15-5.45pm – Kora with Amadou Diagne in the cafe
